Here’s how to install the necessary drivers and software. Works with all programs including Skype.Your original NexImage #93712 camera will work with Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit and Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. Image quality needs some work but this can be tweaked in module settings. Had to install the latest GSPCA driver and preload the module. Does not work with Skype.ĪMD64 version of Kubuntu. Video and microphone works out of the box. Works only with the latest gspca driver.Īutodetected and working correctly. The camera is identified as "093a:2603 Pixart Imaging, Inc." The quality of image is poor. This camera is identified as "093a:2601 Pixart Imaging, Inc." but no driver seems to exist for it yet. (The driver supplied with Ubuntu doesn't seem to have ov518 compatibility yet.) Simply adding 'ovcamchip' to /etc/modules so it loads the ovcamchip module resolves this, but the cam still wont work until you download, compile and install the latest Experimental ov511 driver from. It is Autodetected but complains that it can't enable compression. As the pwc driver is working correctly all other webcams supported by pwc should also work. However gnomemeeting fails to detect availability of /dev/video1 (I have a tv card on /dev/video0) and so gnome meeting is unable to use the cam. 10 fps default, 15 fps after using setpwc.Īutodetected and working correctly. Had to remove my tv card (have not tried to have my tv card inserted now that I use 9.04 Beta), however there might be a way around this.
